There are many reasons to consider an in-home newborn session in Perth, but there are some that you may not have thought of and they could make or break your session.

1.Home, Sweet Home

You have just given birth, been in the hospital with strangers around you, had yourself and bub checked over every few hours and then finally made it home. You’re feeling overwhelmed, hormones are going crazy and you just want something familiar and comforting around you.

Your home is where everyone feels most comfortable and relaxed. It is your safe space and when you feel most relaxed, so do the kids. They feed off your energy and when you’re relaxed, so are they, making for a more relaxing session.

Your home is a reflection of your personality. Doing an in-home newborn session means that your families unique personality is not only shown in your clothes and the way you interact with each other, but it is all around you.

When you one day look back on these images with your family as they grow, you will be able to see little pieces of who you were at that time and be transported back to bringing your baby home to that space. Whether it is your forever home or a stepping stone to your forever home, it will always be your babies first home and that is so special.

3. Let there be light

One of the best parts of an in-home newborn session in Perth is that we are blessed with gorgeous sunshine and lovely big windows. Whether it is the soft morning sun coming in through the bedroom window, or the warm afternoon sun hitting the lounge room in the evening. We will be able to work to make it work to our advantage and create absolute magic right in your own home.

4. Beautiful, everyday moments

I specialise in candid and natural moments, and some of the best moments happen without you even realising. The natural way you interact in the kitchen while prepping a bottle. When Nanny comes over to help out and you pass your swaddled baby over to her. The happy expression that comes over your toddlers face as they get to show their favourite toys in their bedroom.

These are moments you won’t notice in your day to day lives, but as a guest in your home, I will see them clearly and capture these in between our ‘must-have’ shots. Because to me, they are just as important as any other shot.

5. Stress Less

No petrol in the car because bub was screaming on your last trip and you just wanted to race home? No worries.

No bottles prepped to head out the house? Does not matter.

Car seat is still wet from the last trip when bub had a blow out? You don’t need it anyway.

Getting out the house is hard enough with a newborn, let alone getting out while trying to make sure you don’t get spit up on your dress AND trying to stay relaxed and happy for the photos while out…it’s a lot. Having an in-home newborn session is the best way to get rid of all that stress.

6. Perth’s weather

This one is my biggest reason to have an in-home newborn session in Perth. We have some beautiful weather here in Perth. However, our extremely hot Summers and icey cold Winter’s can be too much for our precious newborns who are more sensitive to this.

Keeping your session to temperature controlled environment that they are used to is the best way to ensure they are happy and content which in turn keeps everyone else relaxed for the photos.
