Being a Perth local and family photographer, I have tried and tested many a Perth photoshoot location and have got my top 3 for you today. No gatekeeping here!

1. Fairfield Park, Canning Vale

This is my ALL TIME favourite spot. I don’t want to give aaall my secrets away but let’s just say this spot ticks the boxes for:

• close parking
• easily accessible
• playground nearby (but not close enough to distract them too soon!)
• close to kid friendly dining options for afterwards

With one side featuring tall, forrest like trees and a floor covered in pine needles, and the other side a whimsical paperbark tree bushland that makes me feel like we are dancing with fairies, this photoshoot location is my favourite ever.

2. Kent Street Weir, Wilson

Again, another of my favourites and also FULL of variety. I recommend this spot when I have Perth families looking for an open field location, a bushy location or some boardwalk shots. This spot covers most bases, including:

• Ample parking
• Toileting facilies
• Cafe
• Playground
• Close to Westfield Carousel (Maccas run on the way home for dinner? Sign me up!)

3. Araluen Botanical Park

This little gem of a Perth photoshoot location is guaranteed to get the creative juices flowing. I don’t know if it’s the flowers, the fresh air or knowing you’re standing in such a beautiful part of Perth’s history, but Araluen always has me bouncing away feeling full of life. Especially since it has:

• Ample parking
• Toileting facilities
• Cafe
• Disabled facilities
• Large spaces for the kids to run and burn energy

It doesn’t matter what time of year you go there, there is always some kind of beauty wherever you look, making it the perfect photoshoot location.

Perth has so much beauty to share and so many little hidden nooks and crannies to do a family, maternity or even a newborn photoshoot.
