As your Perth Newborn Photographer, there are some non negotiable steps that I consider while getting ready and in the lead up.

1. Am I sick?
I check in with my body and if I’m feeling at all sick, I contact you to either reschedule or if we can’t work out a time that suits, I will offer a refund.
Because:
A) I’m not risking the most important new little person in your life being exposed and;
B) With time sensitive sessions like newborn sessions, if I can’t deliver, you should be free to find someone last minute who can.
2. Tie my hair up
I always tie my hair up. Hair tourniquets are a real risk with babies, who can’t communicate if one of their fingers or toes gets a hair wrapped around it. I am not risking one of my hair being the culprit for this!
3. No strong scents
No perfumes or strong scents is a huge one for me. Not only do I not want your baby breathing in those chemicals, but the natural scent of mum and Bub is key to bonding.
You know that newborn smell? The one that makes you fall more and more in love with your baby with every inhale? That’s how good you smell to your baby as well.
If I am to be around the both of you, repositioning little fingers and toes or settling Bub to sleep, then I’m not going to have any artificial scents be transferred to either of you.
The natural smell of mother and baby is nature doing its job, ensuring you bond, strengthen your emotional connection and establish breastfeeding if doing so.

I won’t deviate from these 3 steps in my prep before your newborn session. You can feel comfort in the fact that as your Perth Newborn Photographer, I absolutely have yours and your babies best interests in mind at all times.
Book me in for your in-home newborn session and have peace of mind that you will be taken care of.
