I’m sure you’ve seen the awkward 90’s trend all over socials and I’m here to tell you that these sessions are SO FUN.
I laugh a lot during my sessions, but some of these poses just had me in stitches.
So, what is it?
I’ve had some comments on social media with the same sort of theme of “why do they look so serious?”, “why isn’t anyone smiling?” or “I don’t get why they are staring at the camera?”
If you have a quick google of “awkward 90’s photos”, yes there are smiling ones, but some of the most hilarious ones are when everyone is so serious. It’s the juxtaposition of such a ridiculous and awkward pose with a serious expression that makes it so much more funny. And honestly, SO much more fun in the moment as well.
Why should we do it?
I love doing these sessions for Father’s Day. We know dad’s don’t typically jump at the idea of doing family photos, but these seem to be such a winner across many generations and the dads are so keen when you tell them it’s an awkward family photoshoot in Perth.
I’ve even had a dad rock up in matching overalls with the kids and absolutely nail all the poses!
Bring your dad, your grandad, your partner, your kids, you mum, your grandma, your great-grandparents even. This is a multigenerational occasion where laughs are guaranteed.
